Here a quilt, there a quilt, everywhere a quilt, quilt.

Today I started making the 7 12 1/2 inch purple quilt blocks for the quilt exchange I'm participating in.

The fabric choice and pattern

I did a test drive with the pattern and I think it turned out pretty good.  It did indeed end up 12 1/2 inches square.

I haven't squared it up yet but I will.

I thought I would also own up to all the UFO's (unfinished projects) I have on the go.

This is a coin quilt I started and I still have one more border to go on.

See I have the fabric all ready to go.  (like I wouldn't have the fabric...LOL)
I just have to cut it and sew it on.

This quilt was originally part of a round robin with my mom, my aunt, my cousin and myself.  For some reason we never did the swap. The first row on the left was done by my mom and the next two rows were done by me.

This was my mom's quilt for that same round robin.

This quilt is actually really close to being finished.  This was a row robin that 32.5, T, my Aunt Doe, and my cousin A were all part of.  I only have a little bit more quilting to do and then I have to put on the binding and it will be done.

The last unfinished quilt I have is a quilt kit I got from my Aunt Doe, for Christmas.  It is a log cabin pattern and my aunt cut all the fabric and even labelled it for me.  So all I have to do is just follow the instructions and put it together.

Now, really, is there any excuse as to why this is not done yet??  Nope, I can't think of any reasons either.

So I believe my priorities list is to get the 6 purple and cream quilt squares done for the quilt exchange.  They have to be done by the first of March.  That is several weeks away but time has a way of getting away on me and I don't want to be rushing around at the last minute trying to finish them up.  Where is the fun in that.  This quilt swap/exchange is suppose to be a fun thing...not a pressure filled adventure.

Today I was going thru my stash, which almost resembles a fabric store and I found all sorts of fabric that I had bought to finish off my pink and brown quilt.

Isn't it lovely.  Won't it go well with all the fabric I bought the other day to finish my pink and brown quilt.

yes, I think you can all see that I have a little bit of a problem.  I actually think some of my problem is that I think it takes much more fabric to make a quilt then it actually does.  I am pretty sure I now have enough pink and brown fabric to make 3 king size quilts.  LOL.

I took a ton more pictures today but I think I will save them for future blog post.
Take care, happy quilting.

I'm back at it.

Hi everyone, I hope you followed me from Quilting Newbie.

I had a really good weekend. Sunday I met up with T and 32.5. I made us some munchies. I'm not really much of a cook, but I am trying to change that little by little. Anyway here are some pictures of the goodies I made.

I served a ham ball (thanks mom for the recipe), a warm artichoke heart dip and a veggie pizza made on a Pilsbury cresent roll bottom.  I was not really very fond of the Pilsbury pizza, I found it a little rich for my taste.  I did however LOVE the artichoke heart dip and the ham ball.  I so hope that artichoke hearts are healthy I think I eat them everyday.

While the three of us munched on the goodies we discussed how we would set up our upcoming quilting round robin.  There are 7 of us involved.  (HOLY SMOKES...the pressure...lol)  First we decided that we would each make 7 12.5 squares.   So basically we are making one square for each person.  We can choice any pattern we like...that way people that are new to quilting won't feel intimated with having to do a pattern that is too hard for their comfort level.  Next we decided on a theme and we went with a colour theme.  Purple and Cream.  Of course we had to name our little adventure in quilting so it is going to be called the Purple and Cream Dream.

This weekend I was not very faithful to my exercising.  Today I jumped onto the treadmill with a ton of vim and vigor.  I walked 5 minutes and then jogged (or a more accurate description is walked fast) for a minute.  I lasted 60 minutes.  I was happy with that.  My treadmill is old and has been thru many many moves so it is not very accurate anymore so I am not sure of the distance.  I will have a better idea of my distance this weekend with I get my butt kicked by Jillian 32.5.  We workout together most weekends up at the community centre.

Well, I think that is a pretty good post for new blog.  Take care.
